Digital Exposure
Exposing middle school students to 21st Century skills

Classroom Project: "What is the Internet? One of the most life changing inventions, yet people generally have no idea what it actually is. A highway, hamster tunnels, the human cardiovascular system, modern plumbing….all pretty good analogies." Ms. Work's 5th Grade Science Class.
Chris Downs- Chief Technology Officer, FLO Thinkery
Classroom Project: "The students were fascinated with the idea that they could create something that would show up on the internet for the whole world to see. We built a temporary Wordpress site and allowed the students to see how to insert text, video, and images into the site. In order to offer a bit of a challenge, we also used Chrome's built in code inspector and I showed the students how they could manipulate the html and css to make changes to the site. The students played around in the inspector, changing colors, fonts, sizes and more. It wasn't exactly a masters class in web design, but they seemed to have great time learning how they could build and adjust sites, and they were thrilled to see those things come to life on everyone's laptop." Ms. Horner's 5th Grade Math Class.
